Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name, number, or other term entered in a search box is sent directly to the outside provider operating that tool. The provider processes the query and supplies its response. Edwards County Court Docket does not retain or log those query terms on its own systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
An email or contact submission may be retained long enough to answer and maintain the related correspondence. It remains within the organization unless disclosure is required by law.
Data We Gather Automatically
When a page loads, the servers may automatically receive these technical details:
- The IP address assigned to your device
- Which browser you are using and its version
- Your device type and operating system
- The pages you visited and how long you stayed on each
- The site that sent you here, if any
- Timestamps for each page view
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small files placed on a device to help measure site use, including popular pages and points where visits end. Analytics providers combine that traffic information. Browser controls can reject cookies, although disabling them may change how some functions behave.
What We Do With This Data
- Maintaining availability and page speed
- Routing a submitted query to its search provider
- Measuring which resources visitors use
- Diagnosing faults and repairing site functions
- Displaying advertising selected for likely interests
No Court-Record Data on File
Edwards County Court Docket does not host, compile, maintain, or sell a docket database or personal case-record database. It provides general directions to the Edwards County District Court clerk, municipal clerks, courthouse access, and Kansas Case Search. It is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and visitor information is not assembled into consumer reports or third-party profiles.
Third-Party Search Partners
Independent companies supply the search tools. Information submitted to a partner is governed by that company's privacy policy rather than this policy. Each partner controls its retention and disclosure practices, so review its terms before running a query.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to the Kansas Judicial Branch, Edwards County offices, courts, legal-aid resources, or outside search providers. Once a visitor follows a link, the destination's privacy rules control. Review them before providing personal information.
Advertising providers may use their own systems to measure activity across websites and select interest-based advertisements.
Who Might See Your Data
Personal data is not sold. Limited information may be available to:
- Search partners that handle queries you run on our site
- Analytics services we use to track traffic and performance
- Ad networks that place ads on our pages
- Law enforcement or government bodies when a valid legal order requires it
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable, commonly used safeguards protect collected information. No internet service can guarantee absolute security, however, and this site cannot promise that unauthorized access will never occur.
Users Under 18
The service is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. A verified report that a minor supplied such data will be addressed by deleting it.
Your Data Rights
Applicable privacy and consumer-protection law may provide additional rights based on residence. The Kansas Open Records Act, including K.S.A. 45-218 and 45-219, governs requests for qualifying public government records, while Kansas Supreme Court Rules 22 through 24 govern electronic court access, filing restrictions, and protected identifiers. Those authorities do not govern private visitor data held by this site. At a minimum, a visitor may:
- Request access to personal data held about you
- Seek correction of inaccurate personal information
- Ask for deletion of eligible data
- Object to or opt out of certain processing
Updates to This Policy
This policy may be revised. Any revision will appear here with a new effective date, and continued use after publication is subject to the updated version.
